craft beer on miera iela
The craft beer scene is ever expanding here in Riga, together with barbershops and gourmet coffee places. The Miera street area has been known for years as a great place to come for a drink and even hailed as the hipster central of the city, now there’s Walters un Grapa bringing some new beers to our capital city. The name is a pun on Valters un Rapa publishers, who used to live in the same building back in the 1930s. The design is quite minimalistic, with only the things you really need and a lot of space near the bar when it gets bit more crowded during the weekend for a party with a DJ
Besides some Latvian and imported ales, like the world famous Brew Dog, their most taps are pouring Lithuanian beers from the Dundulis brewery, it’s an interesting choice and definitely makes the bar stand out, as it’s offering fairly local IPAs from a neighbouring country, that surprisingly aren’t to be found anywhere else in the city. Cheers!
