the cool hangout
Vest in Latvian means to “take, carry or lead(to)” and this place aims to take you on a hip Latvian experience. Vest is located in the middle of the new city centre, next to the oldest bike path in Riga, quite convenient, considering most of their clients get around town on two wheels. The bar/eatery is located in an older house, transformed with a nice porch serving as the summer terrace. You’ll find the design very modern and very Riga-esque.
Kitchen offers various foods like burgers and pulled pork, but vegetarians need not to worry as there’s something for them too and they serve some good Latvian lagers and craft ales too. If you’re not really hungry or thirsty, you can just pop in the barbershop that is located in the same building, they are really flirting with the whole hipster take-over of Riga in deed. We hear the current Estonian president Ilves also is a frequent guest here, after all he’s quite hip and is married to a Latvian.
