modern Latvian flavours
If 10 years ago you’d ask what is modern Latvian food, most people would just shrug, not many would have been able to grasp the concept of something that’s contemporary, yet Latvian at the same time. Well now, not without thanks to New Nordic Cuisine, we’ve seen more and more exciting Latvian restaurants pop up around the town, introducing creative ways to prepare well known products, not being afraid to experiment, like Restorāns “3”
Led by the local top chefs Juris Dukalskis and Eriks Dreibants, “3” is a classy establishment with a menu made up of the best things Latvian countryside has to offer. They have two levels inside the restaurant – the Earth on first floor, with a la carte menu and daily specials and the second floor The Sky with gourmet menus consisting of either 5 or 7 courses if you’re trying to go through the whole palette. Weekends until 16:00 you can catch a Latvian brunch if you’re looking to try something different, like rye bread with a sliced egg and a sprat – an absolute classic.
