Probably one of the most romantic restaurants in Riga. Its eclectic interior is crowded with small, cute objects; vases, frames, mirrors, sculptures, chandeliers, decorative curtains and little pillows. Candles, flowers and limited space with just a few tables give a cosy atmosphere; lace is everywhere. A little hint; women love it! Mio is a wonderful place for a date, an anniversary or just about anything you want to celebrate, they have even held a wedding here.
It is not only the interior which attracts people, the food is excellent too. The portions of salads are huge, fresh and tasty, possibly even a meal on their own, and meat dishes are done to perfection. Vegetarians can easily find something that will tickle their taste buds.
Mio was so popular that a few meters further down the road, they opened another restaurant Vill Amour at Blaumaņa street 28. When walking from one to the other, remember to look up at the beautiful Art Nouveau buildings. There are many of them in this district and it’s worth the walk from the Old Town to explore this delightful location.
