Smart interior and great food
KID has blessed Riga’s gourmands since 2008 and has withstood the test of time, believe it or not, but 8 years in the restaurant business here in Riga sort of makes you a veteran. Located right in the middle of the city near the St.Gertrude Church and surrounded by great bars and other restaurants, it stands out as a classy establishment offering modern, European inspired food like risottos, pastas and the more Latvian leaning experiments. Their head chef has worked at places like Noma and Tom Aiken, restaurants with the highest reputation and not many places in Riga can say the same about their staff.
The Scandinavian-esque design and really attentive service is a major plus, you feel welcomed and cosy. During summer you can have a meal on the outside terrace, highly recommended on warm evenings when the office folks have left the central business district and the heat has retreated. Prices are friendly and represent the average of a central Riga restaurant, while quality wise being above that.
