Eksports Restaurant in Riga
Reaching restaurant Eksports (Export) either by foot, bicycle, car or by your own private yacht, all possible, is a great way to get out of the Old Town within a reasonable distance! Located next to the river Daugava there is a small marina, with wonderful views, one of the best places for sunsets in summer and winter alike. The address is Eksporta street 1 A but it is a bit hidden away from the street, but once you’ve crossed the street there will be a sign. Located in an area called Andrejosta, which once used to be famous as Riga’s main artist neighbourhood, but due to different big development plans (all stopped now by the latest recession) artists have moved away, however sunsets and beautiful views still remain.
On their menu the main emphasis are the fish dishes, also you will find a range of different meats and vegetarians are not forgotten too. They have a good selection of wines and cocktails and also some bar specialities. Every Saturday 11:00- 15:00 you’re welcome to the pancake mornings and brunch on Sundays from 12:00-16:00 for a fair price, but check out what is on, before you go. For lunch breaks, see the daily offer on working days from 12:00-15:00.
The Restaurant is called Eksports as it’s near the street with the same name and a harbour. Trade always has been an important income for the city and it’s the reason why Riga was established. Through the windows of Eksports you can see the Riga Passenger Terminal and observe people rushing to Stockholm, but further down the river is the industrial harbour of Riga.
